Originally from Los Angeles, Katie Thiroux is described as a triple treat, known for her bravura bass playing, assured singing and compelling compositions. Thiroux carries on the hard swinging tradition of such exemplary bass masters as Ray Brown and John Clayton. Her incredible voice channels the legendary jazz singers such as Ella Fitzgerald and Anita O’Day. Thiroux’s debut album, Introducing Katie Thiroux, was released in 2015 and received international praise including “Debut Album of the Year” from The Huffington Post, All About Jazz, Jazz Journalists Association and "Top 5 Debut Records of the Year" from NPR Jazz Critics Poll.
