Dubai, UAE, August 2017: Quincy Jones’ first-ever bar and lounge featuring live music, will soon welcome its latest world-class act on September 5th. Handpicked by the one and only Quincy Jones, the young prodigy Justin Kauflin, only 29 years of age, will be blowing guests away with his musical talents at Q’s Bar and Lounge in Palazzo Versace Dubai through to 28th October.

Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, Justin Kauflin started his musical career when he was just four years playing the violin. A few years later he discovered the piano and by age 6 he was performing professionally. Tragically the musical genius completely lost his sight by age 11, however this didn’t stop him from pursuing his passion for music. Justin adjusted his learning techniques and by age 15 he was performing jazz professionally, most notably with the Jae Sinnett Trio.

Due to his incredible talents, Justin received a Presidential scholarship to attend William Paterson University in New Jersey in 2004. It was here that he was taken under the wings of the legendary trumpeter, Clark Terry. A unique relationship formed that helped mould Justin’s incredible career; most recently in 2014 he featured in the award-winning documentary, Keep On Keepin’ On, which told the story of how Clark Terry, who also taught Quincy Jones, mentored and inspired Justin who suffers from crippling stage fright. Subsequently, Justin was signed by the music icon that is Quincy Jones and in 2013 and 2014 he was part of Quincy Jones' World Tours.

Justin continues to make a name for himself while travelling the globe and promoting his most recent album Dedication, which debuted at #6 on CMJ Jazz chart, #10 on Billboard's Traditional Jazz Chart, hit #1 on JazzWeek's chart and remained in the top ten spot for nine straight weeks.

The piano prodigy will take to the stage at Q’s Bar and Lounge in Palazzo Versace Dubai early next month. Guests can expect to be moved by his talent, which takes you on a journey of jazz through the years.

Quincy Jones commented: “I was Clark Terry’s first student, Miles Davis was Clark’s second, and Justin Kauflin was one of his last. If you watch the film Keep On Keepin’ On, I promise you’ll get a sense of just how special this cat is, and if you see him live, I promise you’ll understand it. I’ve yet to meet another talent like him and I know I never will...He is simply that unique and I’m absolutely honored to have him at Q’s Bar & Lounge!"

Guests will be drawn into the intimate living room space, which is decked out with plush furniture and mahogany tables facing the vibrant stage. Q’s offers high-quality comfort food stirred by New York and New Orleans culinary culture, and a wide selection of rare beverages in the FROW to the world’s finest music acts complemented by unmatched acoustics.

Quincy Jones, the maestro behind Q’s Bar and Lounge, needs no formal introduction. With a career spanning six decades, he has collaborated with legendary music icons including Frank Sinatra, Amy Winehouse, Ray Charles, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan and of course, Michael Jackson. With twenty-seven Grammys, seven Academy Award nominations, an Emmy, a Tony, and an induction in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Quincy Jones is unarguably the most influential individual in the business and has now brought a slice of his legacy to Palazzo Versace Dubai.

Located in Palazzo Versace Dubai’s West Wing, Q’s Bar and Lounge is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 7pm to 2am.
