Soulful, vocal powerhouse and expert showman David Davis graced the stage at Q's Bar and Lounge beginning 2019.
Chicago-born David Davis captured attention by belting out Motown classics, performing in church and always finding his way to a stage. He perfected his piano and performance skills whilst studying in the nationally renowned Belmont University music program, drawing inspiration from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, and India Arie. David has recorded with legendary producers, from RedOne (Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez, One Direction) to Aaron Sprinkle (One Republic, Eisley). The inspiring artist has also played at sold-out clubs and festivals, both as the headliner and as an opening act for the likes of Jon Bellion and John – Legend. His Voice, arrangements, and productions have been featured on chart-top records, commercials for major brands and networks, as well as across hundreds of stages internationally.

Q’s Bar and Lounge hosted R&B, soul artist and actor Rogelio Douglas, Jr. in late 2018, bringing a vibrant energy and performances full of passion.
Rogelio Douglas, Jr. made his mark as a singer/songwriter, actor and dancer, moving effortlessly between the worlds of music, television, theatre, and dance. When not making live musical appearances or working on TV and Films, Rogelio can be found in the studio writing music. On the big screen, Rogelio can be seen in “Whiplash”, “Superfast!” and “Straight Outta Compton”. His television credits include NBC’s “Chicago P.D.”, Orange is the New Black and “Ray Donovan”. He first gained attention as a lead tap dancer in RIVERDANCE: THE SHOW on Broadway, its world and national tours and in the film RIVERDANCE: LIVE FROM GENEVA. He is an original Broadway cast member of the Tony and Grammy Award-winning Lin-Manuel Miranda musical IN THE HEIGHTS and starred as “Benny” in the production’s first national tour. Off-Broadway, Rogelio appeared in the musical CELIA: THE LIFE AND MUSIC OF CELIA CRUZ and the 25th-anniversary performance of DREAMGIRLS with Jennifer Holliday.

The next performer to electrify the stage at Q's Bar and Lounge was first-generation Haitian-American singer and songwriter, NSTASIA. Having already written songs for artists and producers such as Beyoncé, Major Lazor, Kelly Clarkson, Nicole Scherzinger, and many more, ‘NSTASIA’ broke out on her own becoming one of music’s most compelling emerging artists, renowned for her undeniable skill as a songwriter and ability to create captivating, R&B songs and performances.
Born in Miami, ‘NSTASIA’ grew up around music, having spent her childhood in studios with her father, a live jazz and funk musician. The R&B songwriter then relocated to Atlanta, where she gained inspiration for her debut EP, NEW RELIGION. The promising new star continues to captivate audiences with her debut single “Trap Or Die” becoming the #4 most shared song on Spotify in the U.S. Her fresh, self-assured sound and unique performance continues to attract the attention of remarkable audiences.

Q’s Bar and Lounge hosted ‘The Strike’, a 5-member independent band as the next electrifying musical group to captivate audiences in Dubai with their high energy performances and infectious personalities.
Formed in 2012, the band is headed by frontman Chris Crabb and supported by Brady Bills on guitar, Chase Baker on bass, Myles Lawrence playing the saxophone, Marcus Anderson on trombone and keyboards, and Matt Millington on the drums. They pride themselves in bringing true funk and rock back to pop music and have become renowned for their incredibly high energy performance style, songwriting, powerful tenor lead vocalist, and refined musicianship. ‘The Strike’ have achieved an impressive portfolio of performances on the same ticket as high profile artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Journey, and Macy Gray, as well as licensing music to popular programs - NBC’s “America’s Got Talent”, and ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars”.

Quincy Jones handpicked 2015 American Idol Runner-up Clark Beckham as the next musical prodigy to entertain audiences at Q's Bar and Lounge Dubai.
Clark’s tuneful vocals have led him on a journey from singing in churches and on the street corners with his guitar to performing on national television in front of millions of viewers. Clark's bluesy voice placed him as THE fan favorite and runner-up of the 2015 season on American Idol, and his live performances dominated the top 10 most viewed videos on the program’ YouTube. Clark was nominated for the Teen Choice award for Music’s Next Big Thing, and signed with Quincy Jones.

ELI TEPLIN - 31 OCTOBER 2017 TO 6 JANUARY 2018
Only 25 years of age when he performed at Q's Bar and Lounge, Eli Teplin's fresh raw talent enthralled guests through his residency. Teplin’s synesthesia, which allows him to see colours when he plays certain keys, afforded him the ability to paint pictures with his music and create an escape for his listeners.
Eli is a classically trained pop artist, songwriter, pianist, and guitarist, who began as a local performer in Nashville and made his way to Los Angeles after being discovered and signed by Quincy Jones. With influences such as John Mayer, Brian Wilson, Bruce Hornsby and Billy Joel, Teplin chases his own style of pop music, while placing an emphasis on his classical foundations. As a pianist and guitarist, Teplin studied music at the New England Conservatory in Boston and later moved to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University. Teplin’s music soon caught the attention of Quincy Jones, which later resulted in him being signed to Jones’ international roster of musicians.

JUSTIN KAUFLIN - 5 SEPTEMBER TO 28 OCTOBER 2017
The young prodigy Justin Kauflin was only 29 years of age when he graced the stage at Q's Bar and Lounge and blew away guests with his musical talents, which took them on a journey of jazz through the years.
Justin Kauflin started his musical career when he was just four years playing the violin. A few years later he discovered the piano and by age 6 he was performing professionally. Tragically the musical genius completely lost his sight by age 11, however this didn’t stop him from pursuing his passion for music. Justin adjusted his learning techniques and by age 15 he was performing jazz professionally, most notably with the Jae Sinnett Trio. Due to his incredible talents, Justin received a Presidential scholarship to attend William Paterson University in New Jersey in 2004. It was here that he was taken under the wings of the legendary trumpeter, Clark Terry. A unique relationship formed that helped mould Justin’s incredible career and subsequently, Justin was signed by the music icon that is Quincy Jones and in 2013 and 2014 he was part of Quincy Jones' World Tours.

KATIE THIROUX - 27 JUNE TO 2 SEPTEMBER 2017
The multi-talented Katie Thiroux and her accompanying band treated guests at Q's Bar and Lounge to traditional jazz music with a contemporary flair, drawing upon the rich history of of the genre, from swing to bebop and beyond.
Originally from Los Angeles, Katie Thiroux is described as a triple treat, known for her bravura bass playing, assured singing and compelling compositions. Thiroux carries on the hard swinging tradition of such exemplary bass masters as Ray Brown and John Clayton. Her incredible voice channels the legendary jazz singers such as Ella Fitzgerald and Anita O’Day. Thiroux’s debut album, Introducing Katie Thiroux, was released in 2015 and received international praise including “Debut Album of the Year” from The Huffington Post, All About Jazz, Jazz Journalists Association and "Top 5 Debut Records of the Year" from NPR Jazz Critics Poll.

XRISS - 11 APRIL 2017 TO 26 MAY 2017
Handpicked by Quincy Jones, the soulful XRISS, and her accompanying trio graced the stage at Q's Bar and Lounge, inspiring guests with an array of jazz and soul standards, as well as a fusion of modern-pop and vintage genres. Guests were transported back to the early 20th century as XRISS put her own spin on swing, ragtime, and jazz alongside her accompanying guitarist, bassist, and drummer.
Originally from Lebanon, and now residing in Los Angeles, XRISS has worked very closely with Jones for several years. After becoming a semi-finalist on the debut season of The Voice: Ahla Sawt in 2012, she went on to win Dubai Music Week in 2013, which was judged by acclaimed producers will.i.am., Timbaland, and Quincy Jones.
Since then, XRISS has worked closely with Jones and continues to use her music as a vehicle to raise awareness for social injustices. Namely, her cover of Michael Jackson’s, “Care About Us” comments on the garbage crisis and political dysfunction that is occurring throughout Lebanon in order to lend a voice for the “You Stink” movement.

Q's Bar and Lounge introduced its gifted singer and pianist, Sheléa and her accompanying band in February 2017. Boasting an incredible career that has taken her all over the world, Sheléa and band captivated audiences in Dubai with an array of music genres from Jazz to Soul and R&B. Not only was she recently on tour with Stevie Wonder, but she also sung for the former President, Barack Obama and First Lady, Michelle Obama at the White House. She’s a vocalist, pianist, songwriter, arranger and producer, and her musical mastery makes her one of the most exhilarating up and coming artists today.

OLLIE HOWELL - 16 NOVEMBER 2016 TO 11 FEBRUARY 2017
The first handpicked group to grace the Q’s stage was multi-award winning drummer, instrumentalist, composer, producer and broadcaster – Ollie Howell. While receiving his honorary doctorate at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Howell made a huge impact on the industry internationally, impressing audiences all over the world. His first album, Sutures and Stitches, received critical acclaim from the likes of The Guardian and MOJO, claiming his music “has delicious dynamic flow and an almost elegiac beauty.”
